New Map of the World (The Sørensen Tapestry)

2010

Sørensen looks at the world as if it has not already been extensively – and by all means – been mapped. With our first formula satellites nowadays its hard to imagine how it was when the Nile or the Amazon river had not yet been completely identified. Explorers sailed less than a hundred years ago in search of the ‘origin’. Sørensen seeks on her river, on her ocean to the origin of all life as we did not know or were almost forgotten.
In a 15,5m long tapestry the beholder joins an adventurous discovery journey.
