Lost Worlds, New Cities

2009-2013

Nature takes over, build modern landscapes grow up, new forms of housing appear. A vanished world creates new places, images and forms of life. This brings organic grown forms and technical structures together. The cities of Sørensen are both created as well as grown. Moreover, the form of the cities follow the logics of the communities who shaped them. They have references to ancient cities but seem futuristic at the same time. The sculptures create together with her etchings and drawings a universe on its own. The images that emerge are autonomous and show the specific and personal way she looks at the modern landscape.
